LOUIE BECOMES A CHAMPION!!!

Blackpool has become our lucky show.... especially for Louie "Lucky Luciano"
Louie can now be known as "Champion Woodbriar Luciano JW ShCM" as he was awarded his third and crowning CC this weekend!! He then went on to win BEST OF BREED and was shortlisted in a quality Working Group. You can watch him in action HERE.

Fiji - Woodbriar Fire Fly ShCM also won her class and then went on to be awarded the RCC!!! This means she has gained her Stud Book Number and is Crufts Qualified for life!! We are extremely proud of all of our dogs but today really was something special. This was the first time Woodbriar has taken the DCC, BRCC & BOB at the same show. Huge thanks must go to judge Sue Pollock-Yule for thinking so highly of our dogs :)

A new arrival at Woodbriar...

Tanya and Dean have a new member of the family in the form of a Toy Poodle! Tanya has always admired Poodles but never thought she would own one... until now! Unfortunately Alan found himself needed a home. When he came to us, he had undergone an operation to fix a badly broken leg. We agreed to foster him as Dean would be able to keep a close eye on his recovery. He spent one night in the house and got on with Fiji so well that we decided we would give him a home forever.

He has really come on since being with us. He is full of love and mischief! He has already been on a few outings with us (in our arms, not walking due to his leg!) He loves people and all other dogs. We cannot wait until his leg is fully healed so we can take him on a proper walk!

We are so proud of Fiji as she excepted him straight away. She has taken it upon herself to look after her little brother to make sure he recovers fully :)

Royal Cornwall Agricultural Show

The Woodbriar team again attended the Royal Cornwall Show. The most important show of all to the Cornish! Unfortunately Fiji - Woodbriar Fire Fly ShCM was unable to attend due to cutting her paw, so her brother and sister flew the flag. Lola - Woodbriar Wild as the Wind JW ShCM won Open Bitch and Louie - Woodbriar Luciano JW ShCM won Open Dog and was awarded Best of Breed by breed specialist Hollie Kavanagh. Louie then went on to compete in the Working Group, under Mike Vines and was awarded Working Group 1! This also qualifies him for Top Dog of Cornwall!! As the Royal Cornwall Show is held over three days, we had to return on the Saturday to compete for Best in Show.

Mike and Debbie went down to the show on Saturday and spent the day with friends and of course went shopping! Tanya had to work but luckily managed to arrive just in time to watch Louie compete. Mrs Flemming awarded Louie BEST IN SHOW!!! This is the second year running that Louie has been awarded Best in Show. We are extremely proud of him!!

It must run in the family as Lola – Woodbriar Wild as the Wind JW ShCM won Reserve Best in Show in 2011. Their mum Mouse - Ch Woodbriar Shanghai Silk ShCM, uncle Dutch – Ch Woodbriar Serengetti Sky JW and their Grandmother Indi – Ch Amazon Sealed with a Kiss at Woodbriar have also won BIS. Debbie’s first Dobermann Tanya - Tretamar Black Velet at Woodbriar also won BIS as well as Ike - Ch Vanistica Simply The Best at Woodbriar JW. Carla – Jenick Still Cruisin at Woodbriar JW won BPIS. So over the years that’s 7 BIS, 1 RBIS and 1 BPIS at the best show of all!!
